2009 Schedule of Events

Friday, December 4

3 pm -  Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (Main Entrance of East Tent)

3-9 pm - Exhibitor tents open ($1 admission East & West tents)

3-9 pm - Food court open (K of C Hall on North side of square) public restrooms

3-9 pm - Anderson Mansion/Macoupin County Historical Society Museum Christmas Open House decorated with theme, “Home for the Holidays”, bake sale inside home.  Also serving meals until 8 pm.  $3 admission for adults; $1 for children under 12.  Ride the free trolley, which departs from the town square every 30 minutes

3-9 pm – Trolley “stop and drop” rides available for narrated tours.  Thirty (30) minute round trip (departs from town square)

3-6 pm – Chip off the Block Ice Carvings (square near gazebo)

4-8 pm – Visit Santa Claus at his house (Santa house on square)

4:30-8 pm – Homemade soup and chili supper (United Methodist Church)

5-5:25 pm – Christmas puppet show (Church of the Nazarene)

5-8 pm –  Pony rides (Southwest corner of square) small fee

5-8 pm – Holly Jolly Playhouse for youngsters (United Church of Christ) - small fee

6-6:45 pm – “Christmas at the Cricket County Café” Music Drama

(Emmanuel Baptist Church) Refreshments after performance

6-6:45 pm – Prairie Sound Barbershop Quartet (United Methodist Church)

7-7:45 pm – Hand Bell Choir Concert (United Methodist Church)

7-7:45 pm – Accidently Cool Trio (Gazebo) 

 Saturday, December 5

9 am – 3rd Annual Mistletoe Mile walk/run, one mile course, sponsored by Carlinville FitClub; start at north side of courthouse.  Dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes.  Participation prizes.  Cancelled in case of inclement weather.

9 am-8 pm – Exhibitor tents open ($1 admission East & West tents)

1-1:30pm – Tuba Christmas (strolling town square)

1-5 pm – BPW Christmas Tour of Homes (tickets and maps available) $10 per person

2-3 pm – St. Andrews Society Pipes & Drums Concert and Irish Dancers (town square on gazebo, then in both East and West tents)

3-3:45 pm – Dan St. Onge-Local favorite singer/guitar player (Gazebo)

4:30-8 pm – Homemade soup and chili supper (United Methodist Church)

5-5:45 pm – Christmas Concert-puppet (Church of Nazarene)

6-6:45 pm – “Christmas at the Cricket County Café”  Music Drama (Emmanuel Baptist Church)  Refreshment after performance

7-7:45 pm – Dan St. Onge-Local favorite singer/guitar with the Grinch (Gazebo)

7-7:45 pm – Carlinville Community Choir (United Methodist Church)

Carlinville Christmas Market “20th Anniversary” Cookbook is available!

The Carlinville Christmas Market Foundation's "20th Anniversary Cookbook", has arrived and can be purchased at the Christmas Market, The Book Shelf, the Carlinville Regional Chamber of Commerce office, The Salsa Grill and Michelle's Pharmacy, all on the town square. It can also be purchased at the Christmas Market Office located in the KMRM Insurance building at Nicholas and North Broad.

The cookbook can be purchased for $16, which includes tax. It can be shipped for an additional $2.95. The cookbook features 175 pages of recipes, helpful hints, cooking information, and a brief history of the festival, which dates back to 1990.
